After many years of war and oppression, the Kurds have opened their borders and the leaders of the community have extended a call for Westerners to come and work among them. In response to this invitation, Global Hope is constructing the Freedom Center, its primary development project in Kurdistan of Iraq. The aim of this large-scale community center is to be a “net” for building relationships with the Kurdish people, meeting their expressed needs, and sharing God’s love. This project will serve as a vehicle to accomplish Global Hope’s greater vision of holistic community transformation.

Kabul24 Movie Released

The newly released documentary, Kabul24, (executive produced by Michael W Smith, directed by Ben Pearson and narrated by Jim Caviezel) tells the amazing story of the 2001 Taliban kidnapping of 24 aid workers in Afghanistan. Kabul24 captures the true story of the hostages' incredible 105 day journey from arrest to release. Among those imprisoned was Global Hope's founder and president, Heather Mercer. Her story, along with that of her colleague, Dayna Curry, is shared in the book Prisoners of Hope. Now, Kabul24 takes us even deeper into the lives of the other prisoners to give a fuller picture of their mutual plight and shared hope. www.kabul24movie.com
